Banana Bread

Banana bread is a huge hit in our family. We love it as-is, warmed up with some soft butter on top. You can add in white chocolate chips (or milk or dark), peanut butter chips, pecans, walnuts, or add a crumble on top with a glaze. There is SO much you can do with such a simple base. Today we're sharing a simple base recipe so that you can go wild (then share it with us! #elsterware)

  • 2 cups flour

  • 3 tsp baking powder

  • 1 tsp salt

  • 3 ripe bananas

  • ½ cup butter, room temperature

  • 1 cup granulated sugar

  • 2 eggs

  • 1 tsp vanilla

  • 1 cup buttermilk

     1. Preheat oven to 350° F. Grease your 10-inch Elsterware springform pan.

     2. In a medium bowl whisk together flour, baking powder and salt. In another bowl, mash bananas until smooth.

     3. Add butter to bananas and beat until well combined.

     4. Add sugar, eggs, and vanilla and mix well.

     5. Alternate adding a third of the flour mixture and a third of the buttermilk, mixing after each addition until just combined.

     6. Pour batter into the prepared pan.

     7. Bake for 50-55 minutes until the center is set and a toothpick comes out clean.
